Everything you want to know about Bose Companion 2 Series III Mulitmedia Computer Speaker System

By our senior writer: Jenifer Sandifort

Today is a exciting day for me because I get to review the Bose Companion 2 Series III! I am long time electronics writer, blogger and reviewer Jenifer Sandifort and you might know me from some of my other reviews. I've written for example about the xHD2 12KW Radar Pedestal Only by Garmin and the ProSphere Men's Virginia State University Bold Performance Tank by OWA or maybe you have heard of the editorial piece I did on the NEW : PlayStation 4 Pro 1TB Console - Red Dead Redemption 2 + DualShock 4 Wireless Controller for PlayStation 4 - Crystal + NBA 2K17 Bundle ( 3 - Items ). Anyway, I have quite a lot experience trying out electronics and recommending only the best to my readers. Therefore I was really happy when this product came on my path.

I've been a fan of Bose products1 for years and I was really looking forward to finally trying the Bose Companion 2 Series III and reviewing it for you guys. I found the best deal on this site on Walmart (You can buy the Bose Companion 2 Series III here.) and I didn't hesitate a moment. So I reached for my creditcard and bought one straight away. I was glad it had free shipping and 24 hours delivery when I ordered it because I couldn't wait! When my Bose Companion 2 Series III arrived the next day I ripped open the packaging and was really happy with what I saw. As I said before I'm a huge Bose enthusiast but I can be very critical and objective too, especially when writing for my readers. :-) After testing it for about a week now I am confident that I have the authority to write this piece. So read on and I will tell you all about my findings and if you should buy this thing.

Best Bose Companion 2 Series III Mulitmedia Computer Speaker System deal

I mostly begin with a summary when reviewing electronics, then I write a list of the positive and negative points of the product after which I'll explain my rating and have a conclusion and of course the resources I used writing this article. So as made clear in the previous paragraphs, I am quite fond of the Bose Companion 2 Series III. Bose really went all out with this one. The quality is unmatched, and to be honest; it just looks amazing. I know looks aren't the most important aspect of electronics, but it does need to be talked about. And I'm sure it will when more people start to look at this masterpiece. The price alone that Walmart offers was and is by far the lowest, and should be enough reason to grab your wallet so make sure to check them out. I did test a lot of similar products before, I must admit none come even close to the Bose Companion 2 Series III. Just the functinality alone leaves all competition in the cold and the quality also proves to be up there. The customer service of Bose2 is known to always be very happy to assist if you have any question so if you ever need them they'll be really tolerant and helpful in looking for a solution. So just a quick recap; only good things to say about the Bose Companion 2 Series III Mulitmedia Computer Speaker System. Do finish this article tho because you there is sort of a surprise in the end!

This pros list of the Bose Companion 2 Series III could be much longer, and is way longer than the conslist, but the description3 this site has will probably already say it all. Here is just a little piece: "

  • High-quality audio performance, with clear sound at any volume
  • Wide, lifelike sound delivered by two elegant speakers
  • Volume control/headphone jack on front of right speaker
". So without further ado, this is the very much incomplete list:
  1. Companion Series
  2. Computer Speaker System Highquality Audio Performance
  3. Clear Sound
  4. VolumeWide Lifelike
  5. Delivered
  6. The amazing looks.
  7. The quality is great.
  8. It is everything it promises to be.
  9. $99.00 is just a steal comparing to the alternatives.
  10. There is no brand like Bose when it comes to electronics.
  11. The durability is very nice, so better for the environment.
  12. In this price range, no other product coming out will be matching the Bose Companion 2 Series III for a long time to come.

When thinking of cons for the Bose Companion 2 Series III I had a way harder time. Sure, lower prices is always better4 and do you really need this premium quality? That's for yourself to decide. Here is the list:

  1. Maybe the way the product looks is not to your taste.
  2. It's a premium product so maybe you don't need this level of quality.
  3. The Bose Companion 2 Series III is so popular that soon everybody will have one.

Best Bose product in years

Considering everything I wrote before you won't be surprised that I give the Bose Companion 2 Series III Mulitmedia Computer Speaker System 5 stars, 10/10 an and an A++. In reviews I've read by professionals5 saying that it's just too good to be true I found that they maybe were a bit envious of the success of Bose and they just can't comprehend the awesomeness of the Bose Companion 2 Series III.

Verdict and Conclusion

In conclusion, my verdict is that the Bose Companion 2 Series III really will make your life more fun and just better altogether. (And did I mention the resale value6 of Bose products?) I've done my utmost to view this thing from all possible angles in this piece but I see it sounds all very positive. So please read some more reviews, and you'll see that it's not me that is so enthusiast. So let me just say is that I fully, fully, recommend the Bose Companion 2 Series III Mulitmedia Computer Speaker System for now and the future until Bose will come up with its successor. And if you are still hesitating whether you want this new Bose Companion 2 Series III. Walmart really has a great deal on it now. They have the Bose Companion 2 Series III on sale HERE for the record low of $99.00. But enough reading. Just go get it and admire your very own, very new Bose Companion 2 Series III Mulitmedia Computer Speaker System!

OK, I'm going to be very critical here

I purchased my QC20i headphones/ear buds in March for travel, usually long international travel. I promptly took a trip. Then a few weeks later I travelled domestically. The headphones were used a lot for the air travel and typically at the pool or beach. I found getting the earpieces properly fitted to my ear relatively easy and an important step. If they fit properly, they work properly. The noise canceling was incredible. You can block out that jet engine roar and other noise very well. I really like the control to switch it off so you can hear flight attendants when they come by. Once the earpieces are in my ear I forget about them. They are that comfortable and you just get used to being into your own world. The sound quality is superior. They are very rugged and I particularly like the fact they don't retain the wire curl when rolled up and stored. When stood in the case you have a small package which makes it easy to carry. I use the headphones on my iPods, iPad and iPhone, sometimes with the airline entertainment systems. Here's where my issues come in. The module at the end of the cord,,,, poorly designed. The distance from the plug to the module body is 2 inches. That means that module will be maximum of 2" away from whatever it is plugged into. This is troublesome particularly when plugging into the audio port on the inside of the arm rest. It's a good thing these headphones are rugged! When plugged into an iPod or iPhone you now have this module hanging awkwardly from the audio plug. To deal with that I use a velcro strap and wrap the 2 units together. That solution can lead to the strap inadvertently changing the controls on the phone or iPod. On an iPad it's hopeless, just get used to it dangling. Another issue is the size of the carry case. It is so small that the cords have to do a sharp bend at the module and we all know this will result in broken cords and intermittent connections over time. It's just too small. I absolutely love my QC20i headphones and they are a pleasure to wear and use. Excellently engineered except for the short lead to the module.

Very nice headphones

I am a well experienced Bose customer, I had a couple of headphones sets before, and a speaker form Bose. When It comes to quality sound I always would chose Bose over other brands. I was not a big fan of noise cancelling system – even from Bose, I was just getting a weird feeling from it. But this thanks giving I got a pair of QuietComfort® 20 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® headphones. This was by far the best experience with headphones I had so far. Headphones are every well assembled, no loose parts, made out of very quality plastic. The in-ear part is made out of silicon and fits in the ears perfectly. Headphones come with three sizes of StayHear®+ tips – small, medium and large, I decided to stick with the medium size. It fits in the ear very comfy, but after 5-6 hours of usage I started feeling a little discomfort in my ears, also it was not very comfortable to fall asleep in them. The thing I liked a lot about the headphones is that left and right is very easy to distinguish – which a lot of earphones do not have. The cord is made out of harder plastic you would see in AE2 headphones (not sure if they still make them), seems to be very reliable, but I am still kind of concerned about it, it has two more bases because of the noise cancelling block, that is where wire usually breaks (if breaks) – it breaks at the basis because it bends, but I hope this won’t be a problem. Being honest, this wire as all wires tangles In a pocket too. The block itself doesn’t cause any trouble putting it in the same pocket with a phone. The only thing I found myself not happy with was the clip - at the airport I unclipped headphones from my shirt countless amount of times. The noise cancelling system is something amazing, I did not like it before, some friends gave me to try their headphones sometimes – I though it is just not mine. This pair changed my mind, it took me about one song to get used to it, and now I wonder how was I living without it all that time! Right now I am on a plane, enjoying some music. With regular in-ear headphones I would need to turn the volume all the way up in order not to hear the engines, but noise cancelling thing does its job so well – you do not hear it at all! These pair also provides you with a feature of turning noise cancelling off – which I think is pretty neat, if you want to pay attention to what is happening around. When using noise cancelling for a long time - battery lasts around 8-10 hours, which is perfect for one day. The quality of the sound is always great, Bose has never disappointed me with it. Compared to cheap in-ear headphones that I was using for past three months CQ20 is a completely different experience. When listening to something like The Dark Side Of The Moon – you are truly able to experience sound and music at its best, I have even heard some new parts I did not hear before. I usually listen to music for at least 3-4 hours a day, so if you are a customer like me QC20 would be a perfect fit for you. It does not take any space, weights nothing, and provides you with great sound quality and noise cancelling feature.

Great Noise Cancellation - Great Sound

This is my first go around with Noise Cancelling earbuds/headphones so I really didn't know what to expect. I received the black and blue pair of QuiteComfort 20 earbuds for free from Bose as part of their Test and Review program so I thought there was no better way to give these a try. Currently I have the Bose Freestyle earbuds and have been using them for working out, yard work, and travel. They have been working great and the sound quality is excellent. I am not an audiophile by any means...but I do love my music. So needless to say I was a tad bit skeptical at trying new headphones and really didn't think these would replace my daily earbuds. Starting with the packaging, it's typical Bose. Very nice. Great looking box, earbuds are packaged very nice and secure, you just know you are opening up a nice product. Once opened and unpacked I was able to get a better idea of what I was dealing with. Since this is an "active" system, you are going to have the outside battery that you switch on and off for the noise cancellation. At first I thought this would be pretty obtrusive but I was pleasantly surprised to see what it fit right in the palm of my hand and is a really thin design. There is a nice rubbery texture to it so I didn't have to worry about it sliding around on surfaces. Once out of the package I decided to give them the try out on a trip to the gym. Today was a full body and cardio day, so a perfect "test" to see how well they would perform and how difficult and bulky they would be. The included clip works great and held the earbud wire up nicely. The battery is much smaller than the profile of my iPhone 6 Plus, so after lugging that phone with me when I work out, I figured this should be easy. I was right, it really was. With the 90 degree jack the battery sat in my pocket right up against my iPhone and I really didn't notice it was there. The wires made it a bit more tricky to get it in and out of my pocket for changing songs or moving past one that I didn't want to listed to. However, it wasn't enough that I would sideline them. If you have never used Noise Cancelling technology...prepare to be AMAZED!!! I turned the music all the way down and flipped the switch...WOW! In a busy gym the sound basically vanished. There was a small amount that you can hear...but the majority of the sound goes away. This left just me and the music to start my workout. I was so amazed I made my wife try them on. She's not amused with technology...but I can tell you one thing, we are going out to buy her a pair to work out with! She loved them. During my workout I have no issues with the earbuds. They are easy to swap out size wise and they fit perfectly in your ear. The earbuds rest in your ear but give you a nice, soft seal with the upgraded (included) tips. My workout went without a hitch, the only reason I knew my headphones were in is that I spend most of the time hitting the button on the side of the volume control to turn on and off the sound cancellation. It was amazing. The included case is very nice and fits everything you need for your earbuds without taking up much space. I am able to toss them into my small gym bag with no issues. The extra bonus that I found is that I don't have to have the earbuds plugged into my phone to take advantage of the sound cancellation feature. Just pop them in your ears and turn on the battery...sound goes away. This was great for sitting in my house and doing some work that needed to get done while not being distracted by anyone. I am actually using them for that purpose while I fill out this review! Very comfortable, easy to use, great build quality, excellent sound, and great sound cancellation. This is a must have! Can't wait to take my first flight with them!
